Dot NAME Domains

Launched in 2001, the .NAME universal top-level extension is the single TLD meant for personal sites only. These domains can include personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other designations people are known by. At the beginning, only 3rd-level registrations were possible, so if you planned to order john.doe.name, you were required to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were liberalized and second-level registrations were also allowed. Existing 3rd-level domains remained running.

Through our company, you can obtain your .NAME domain for a period between one and ten years. You will have the opportunity to change the WHOIS contacts, to park your domain, to create Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an existing domain to our company if you have its EPP transfer authorization key from the current domain registrar and we will renew it after the transfer has been finished. There are no particular rules on who can secure a dot NAME domain name, but in order to preserve the goal behind its creation alive, the dot NAME Registry organization may check who the owner is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration could be challenged.

The dot NAME gTLD is amongst the extensions that support internationalized domains, so we can also register a domain in any language at no further cost. In this way, your dot NAME domain will be recognized in your country or area with the exact spelling in your native language.
